So proud to be the big sister was I
I have never cried more
Than the day you died
Jolted awake at 3 in the morning
I will never forget
That awful ring
There had been a fiery car crash
Nothing left of you
But your truck and ash
Oh the dreaded sound in our moms' voice
Your horrid death
Had not been your choice
Murdered by a stupid drunken man
They would all say
It was part of God's plan
He did have plans for you, my sweet brother
Plans that were stolen
So quickly by another
My brother Adam was murdered by a drunk driver on the Fourth of July, 2003 while coming back from a date with his future wife. He was 19 years old. The man who killed him had left a bar after consuming more than 12 beers, and was on his way to another party to drink more when he crashed into my brother's pick-up truck. My brother had not had a drop to drink.

Poetry: Death of a loved one
by Judi B
Heaven Has My Hero Now
Heaven has my hero now,
My life with you is gone.
It's changed in oh, so many ways
But yet continues
"Never"
(In Loving Memory
For my Tattooed Queen)
Taken away before your time,
The debt paid before the crime,
Left but never
The Long Wait
The leaves fell down
Upon the autumn grass;
Frailty in every shade of red...
I sat by the window for a closer
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you
Neither sunrise nor sunset that I don't hear your voice
Or miss your laugh
And
Lights shine off in the distance
Nothing but blackness appears
There is resistance
Death whispers in my ear
He talks of a life
