Poetry: Crickets

by Cheryl Dixon

Created on: September 05, 2008   Last Updated: March 05, 2012

Small green crickets here they are
Jumping from pond to pond
No home, and barely any hope
They sit and wonder all day long
They sing their melody of squeaks and snaps
they look to the sky and hope they see another moon
Here they are
Small green crickets.
Praying to their simple god that they don't see him far too soon
Listen to their evening call, don't be afraid at all.
