Global warming: Is it as bad as it's made out to be?

Global warming is the latest of dire warnings issued by many of the world governments in the 21st century. The subsequent confusion of interest groups twisting and distorting facts to suit individual agendas, government bodies seeking to justify their existence by acknowledging selected quasi-scientific bodies and the industry high-fliers seeking to ply their solutions' for profit, the truth of global warming is now hysterically distorted beyond recovery.

In the 1970's, the world lived in fear of an imminent ice-age prematurely caused by pollution and heavy industry, as well as the burning of fossil fuels while eminent scientists and experts' howled down any that dared to disagree. Evidently the pendulum has swung to the opposite extreme and the world is heating up, God help any foolish enough to disagree with the learned and distinguished who now have the ear of our world leaders. Politicians too stupid to decide any issue beyond that considered likely to ensure their re-election wallow in frenzy of publicity and the wake of a green' propaganda campaigning in the hopes they are seen as saviours of the planet.

We humans have been studying and attempting to predict the weather almost from the time we learned how to put pen to paper however it is only the last few centuries or so that detailed weather records really commenced. A handful of famous scientists dabbled from time to time with varying amounts of success yet such experimentation produced resulta that were parochial at best. Sailors learned to recognise various storm indications by observing cloud formations, sea and wind patterns but once again, these predictions were only as good as the eye could see. Few scholars dedicated serious time and effort collecting and studying weather data until relatively recently in human history.

From the early days of practical weather forecasting in the 1950's through to satellite technology of the 21st century, we still only have a minuscule record of weather with which to try and determine long-term trends and significant changes. Sufficient geological data on the other hand exists to accurately determine as fact the world has experienced more than one ice-age with the last one somewhere in the order of 10 000 years or so ago.

Clearly there were no fossil fuel emissions, hydrocarbon emissions, high-flying jet aircraft or any other human influence that caused the world to warm up and the ice from 10 000 years ago to retreat. It is also evident that significant changes
