Does it pay to have good morals? I would really like to think that it does pay.
I would like to think, that me being in a supervisory role, that when I am hiring someone that it is their integrity, honesty, manners, their sense of pride, and passion that is coming through to me.
I want to know that the person I am talking to who is wanting my time who wants to be apart of a team where I work, will be a valued asset to the team. I want to know that this person possesses not only the vital skills to perform their daily job and tasks, but that they want to be there. That they know the meaning of a long hard day, the meaning of making a buck. I want to know that this person would chip in at anytime even if it meant they were off the clock. I want someone who is hard working, has manners, is team oriented. Someone who is representable and presentable for the company image. You want someone who is dedicated. Well adjusted and rounded individual.
Those are people who have morals. Who know what a good upbringing is all about. We need people who know their are rules, and boundairies because not only is it to keep people in order but that it is for safety reasons as well. We need more people who respect their elders now adays. I can show you so many examples of people old young and in between who are just rude and disrespectful, this should not be tolerated. Our older generations have been through some very tough times. The least you can do is hold a door, say hello how are you, or just help them with something. You would be amazed at what a little gesture will do for someone. A smile goes a long way, or even a handshake.
I think that it is very sad that now a days not everything is as easy as it once was. That politeness has fallen to the wayside. I think that manners are essential, I think being polite is common sense. I really believe that if people just took a little time to make a difference in someone elses day this world would be well on its way to becoming a better, friendlier place.
I used to have a friend who put into her weekly routine to do a random act of kindness. I really thought that was a really cool thing to do. I remember one week I helped with one of those acts and it was making cookies for the firemen and the police officers. They were all so appreciative of such a little gesture.
So yes I believe that it truly does pay to have morals.
