What is Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, or even Easter dinner without Green Bean casserole? I have tried all the recipes for it, and I believe the recipe that my Grandma gave me, is by far the best! This recipe is how I make it every holiday, and it is by far the easiest. Keep in mind, that I am a cook by trade, so I don't actually measure, or weigh ingredients. I mostly go by the look, texture and taste of the dishes I am preparing. That being said, I am going to give you the basics of Grandma's recipe, and you can adjust it to your own individual tastes.
3 - 4 cans french style green beans
1 - 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 large can French's French Fried Onions
1 Bag sour cream and onion potato chips
A pinch of white pepper
Combine green beans and mushroom soup in a 1, 1/2 quart casserole dish. Stir in 1/2 of the french fried onions, and 1/2 bag crushed sour cream and onion potato chips. Add the pinch of white pepper to taste and stir altogether. Top with remaining french fried onions. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Remember, this recipe is just for the basics. You can adjust it for your own individual taste by adding to, or leaving out a little more or a little less of each ingredient.
