This is why many people embark on the challenge of starting a business, even if it represents great personal and financial risk. Starting a business is like a lot of other challenges. The journey of overcoming barriers can completely derail the process and cause the person to fail miserably. But, if they persevere and reach the pinnacle of their aspiration, the results can be extremely rewarding. Owning your own business is an issue of commerce but it is also an issue of pride. WORKING FOR YOURSELF

Probably the best thing about owning your own business is that you do not have to work for someone else. This aspect alone is what causes many people to pursue independence. Some people are fine working their whole lives for someone else, but for others it is a maddening experience. If you work for someone else, you always have to get permission to implement vision, ideas, and direction. For some, the negotiation process just isn't worth it. They want to have control from the first day. Granted, this also means that the business owner is to blame if things do not go well. But again, it is still worth it for some people because they would rather have tried and failed than spend their whole life trying to convince someone else of their ideas.

FLEXIBILITY AND FREEDOM

Another major aspect that makes owning your own business desirable is a general state of flexibility and freedom. This is similar to the first point in that the business owner is the boss, but it refers more to what they do as the owner. This means that they can work as much or as little as they want. They can hire whomever they want and they can produce their product in their own particular way. Of course, many small business owners work harder than those who work for established companies. The reason is that they quickly come to realize that they must work in order to bring in revenue. Some people love to own their own business, but they also stress about the organization on a constant basis because they know that commerce is fragile and they could fail at any time.

These aspects that make owning a small business a wonderful thing are, of course, a double-edged sword. Being the boss means that you are also to blame when things fail. In addition, freedom and flexibility means that the owner is also responsible if they mismanage their time. Still, new businesses start every day because the risk is worth it to the aspiring entrepreneur.
