For many years laziness has invaded society more and more with each generation. How often have those from older generations launched into stories beginning with "Back in my day"? Laziness has become so much the norm, in fact, that many people don't even realize they are part of the issue. The age of the couch potato has replaced the age of reason. It is vital for us all to be equipped to recognize the five signs of a lazy person not only to avoid the stress and frustration that accompanies them, but to ensure that we don't fall into the same trap. After all, idle hands are the devil's playground.
LATENESS
The lazy person is often tardy. Whether it is to work or personal appointments, showing up late is often connected to a person's sense of urgency. Typically, the lazy person does not prepare for the deadlines of the day. This causes a snowball effect from the moment the alarm sounds in the morning, if an alarm was set at all. No matter the consequences, the lazy person will not take measures to correct issues regarding their timeliness. This is disrespectful of other people's time. The more you question them, the more feeble the excuses become. This can slowly degrade a relationship over time, and can eventually have a "boy who cried wolf" effect. One day when the excuse is absolute truth, it may not be believed causing turmoil in a friendship or even a termination at work.
OVERWHELMED
As responsibilities pile up, a lazy person shrinks down. We all know that with any work unforeseen events can occur, but a person who is lazy does not deal with this well and begins drifting to extremes. He will either begin to shut down, or he will become agitated and hyperactive due to the sudden levels of stress. The lazy quickly become doubtful of success and at times will attempt to cover it up with self-deprecating humor. What most people see as a simple task with a few bumps in the road, the lazy person can quickly define impossible.
CO-DEPENDANT
The lazy person asks more questions than one could think possible. In and of iteself this is not so bad, but when the question is asked on a weekly or, in extreme cases, daily basis,
