I love this game, and so does everyone I've talked to who has played it. Here is basically how it works:
1. Each person draws seven cards. These cards have an event, place, person, or thing written on them. They can be anything from George Washington to a pair of socks.
2. Each person alternates being the "judge." He/she picks up a card from a separate deck. These cards have some sort of adjective on them, such as sappy, smelly, or enjoyable.
3. The judge puts the card on the table and everyone must pick out the card from their hand that best matches it and puts it face down on the table. Here's the catch: the last person to drop a card has to pick it back up and sit that round out. You have to be fast.
4. The judge shuffles the cards so he/she doesn't know which one was dropped by which person. The judge then picks the card he thinks best matches his/her card for that round. The person who dropped the winning card gets the judges card. The first player to win a certain number of rounds wins the game.
5. Everyone draws until they have seven cards again. The judge changes each round.
Now, this sounds like a simple, boring game. It's not, especially if you play with a large number of friends and family who like to laugh and have a good time. You end up with some crazy comparisons like "Depressing = My First Kiss" or "Ugly = Iowa." I promise, everyone will laugh a this game.
Not to mention the company keeps releasing expansions so you constantly have new cards to use. The game requires nothing but the cards, so the game is easy to transport. You may have as many players as you want playing at one time. This is a great party game. There is a reason it won a number of game of the year awards.
Try it, if you get a chance. You'll love it!
