There are many websites available that help promote academic success. The following are the ones I've found to have the best and most comprehensive advice, while also being fun, relevant and easy to navigate.

This site is packed with information about how to study effectively, keep stress under control, manage your time and improve memory. There's a great student-to-student section offering tips, advice and suggestions for all kinds of study related issues, articles on a huge variety of specific study strategies and lots of useful links.

This website claims to contain "tips and tricks to help you manage your time, take better notes, study more effectively, improve memory, take tests, and handle the stresses of college life." It delivers all this and more, including concentration tips and tips on specifics like writing the perfect scholarship essay. It also has advice on non-academic issues such as student budgeting and travel.

This is the Prentice Hall Success Supersite. It covers everything from academic skills to choosing the major that's right for you and planning a career path whilst in college. This site also has some useful and inspiring student success stories.

www.pearsoned.ca/carter

The companion website to Carol Carter's excellent book "Keys to Success: Core Concepts", this site, like the book, helps to guide the student through a range of useful topics. It includes developing good reading, writing and note taking skills, the best ways to carry out research, how to become an active listener, how to set up and run study groups and foolproof strategies to deal with taking tests and exams.

Top Achievement provides excellent goal setting and self-improvement resources that anyone would find useful, but its advice on motivation, inspiration and goal setting will be particularly relevant to new and returning students. Articles, tips, success stories and inspirational quotes help students set and reach educational goals.

This is the website for The Student Center, a social networking and student resource site, with lots of advice on both academic and general issues of interest to students. There's information on individual colleges, planning a career path, preparing for tests and exams and where to buy textbooks. It can also be a great source of support helping students connect with other students and providing forums for the discussion of a variety of relevant topics.

This site is full of advice about study skills and strategies. It also has study tips divided by subject areas, a useful "tip of the day", and practical day-to-day advice about getting the most out of your time at college. You can download free MP3 audio files on subjects such as improving assignment grades, essay writing and presentation skills, and achieving better exam results.

This is a really useful site pinpointing the most effective ways to study for tests, how to approach different test types and how to manage test taking anxiety. Suitable for students at all levels, with lots of interesting and relevant links.
