[Verse 1]
I hope this letter finds you well
I drank the bottle
And it broke your spell
And as the liquid flowed free
So did these words
I discovered what you meant to me
Like a lonely planet on the outskirts
I thought I had found freedom
I underestimated the pull your heart exerts
Even miles away sight unseen
Your words still held sway
The drone never forgets his queen
[Chorus]
I tried to
Bid you farewell
But I just
Couldn't find the words
And I thought
I'd spread my wings
And fly away
Like all those birds
And though the sky calls
My heart just stalls
And I can't leave you
Behind
[Verse 2]
All those dreams still fill my brain
But you're like a drug
And I know I should abstain
But just one look one word
And magically I
Think that I'm cured
Only now I'm much deeper in
Than ever before
And it seems I'll never win
Lure me here then shut me out
It burns inside
And if I could I'd shout
[Chorus]
I tried to
Bid you farewell
But I just
Couldn't find the words
And I thought
I'd spread my wings
And fly away
Like all those birds
And though the sky calls
My heart just stalls
And I can't leave you
Behind
[Bridge]
The life I lead no longer mine
You burden me I toe the line
Scar me again I'm in your trance
I don't ever stand a chance
I can't let go
I can't move on
And through it all
You love to watch me fall
[Chorus]
I tried to
Bid you farewell
But I just
Couldn't find the words
And I thought
I'd spread my wings
And fly away
Like all those birds
And though the sky calls
My heart just stalls
And I can't leave you
Behind
