Guidelines for eye care

Eye care is something that is vital to the way of life as we know it. Few really understand that the eye is actually the only part of the nervous system that is exposed to the air and the surrounding environments. Its amazing, the creation of the eye, and all that it can do, the amazing abilities it has to allow us to see dimension, depth, and even color. Your eyes, are often something people only think about when they begin to notice a problem. But there are many signs that lead up to a problem much like any sort of illness. Care is important for your eye, because without them, the world is either blurry or dark.

An annual eye exam is important. Especially with someone that already wears glasses or contacts. The annual eye exam is more than just making sure you're vision is not currently changing. It's also a full check up on the overall health of your eye. With special lights, the doctors are able to see inside your eye, checking the blood vessels in the back of the eye. Carefully watching for any sort of pressure that comes from behind the eye indicating a tumor. Ophthalmologists, are the kinds of doctors that make sure your healthy orbs of sight, stay that way. No matter the color, they all need care and maintenance.

Dilation is important. While it does cost a little extra the benefits of being able to see the whole eye outweigh the monetary costs. This will allow the doctor to see a great deal more than without the drops. Seeing potential problems, and the general health of the eye. There are reversal drops, so you won't have to worry about walking around all day without being able to see. It takes a few hours for your eyes to go back to normal. Sun sensitivity is an issue while you wait, polarized sunglasses are key.

Even if you have 20/20 or perfect vision, you need to remember that you're eyes are extremely vulnerable. They have no real shield other than the eye lashes and eye lids. But human reaction time is not always fast enough to stop a projectile from entering the vulnerable flesh of the eye. Which is why, when doing any kind of lawn care, a pair of safety glasses are always the best way to go. While you may think they make you look, fashionably deprived, they will in the end save you from a great deal of grief and hardship. Grass shavings, loose dirt, and small tiny pebbles could easily damage your eye costing you money, sight, and comfort in the long run.

For those that already have sight problems. Needed corrective lenses to allow them to see
