There is no pain greater on God's green earth
Than knowing that there will be no more words
Of love, of promise, of conversation
Between two people who once spoke under stars
Hidden under moonlight in the dark
There will be no more embraces
No kisses that made hearts dance
No anticipation of a gentle touch
And there is no pain greater on God's green earth
Than knowing that the both of us
Share the same sunsets and sunrises
We breathe the same air
Though miles apart from one another
The winds of change moved through our worlds
Separating us from one another, sadly
A different road was chosen by either you or I
And the sands of time swiftly ran through our hourglass
Though we are worlds apart I think of you
In the early morning before the sun comes up
And at the end of the day, as the moon rises
And with certainty, I love you still
