Being a freelance writer offers many rewards that other jobs do not offer.

You may always have a job once you become a professional. There are hundreds of magazines, newspapers and websites always looking for content to satisfy their readers. Once you can offer content that is interesting and acceptable to editors and readers you'll never run out of work. You will instead probably have to turn away work.

Being a freelance writer means you can work at your own time and pace. That is what many people want to do. Freelance writing offers you that opportunity. Of course there is the danger of becoming lazy and never getting around to getting the job done because no one is looking over your shoulder. However, if you are disciplined enough you can work at your own pace and hours.

You can earn six figures in some niches of freelance writing depending on how good you are and which magazine you are writing for. Or it can provide you with a side income if you want to keep your day job. That side income can help you pay off certain expenses that your day job cannot cover.

How famous do you want to become? Again freelance writing offers you the opportunity to become a celebrity writer for a certain field or industry. You can have your own column in a newspaper or magazine which people religiously follow. You can get speaking engagements, get to travel, sometimes on all expenses paid travel, stay in exotic hotels, meet important people and there you are on your way to fame!

Freelance writing can also be your ticket to the job of your dreams. It can be your interview to getting the job you have always wanted. If you can write well about your industry and a job comes up and you put in an application with some articles that you have written included with your resume you may be more likely to be considered for the job since you will be seen as an authority in the industry because of your writing.

There is nothing which can boost your confidence more than seeing your name beside an article that you have written or getting comments from workmates or friends about your article which they saw in the newspaper or in a magazine.
