Most memorable TV couples

There are so many memorable couples that have taken over our living rooms for years with their very different relationships. It all started many years ago and that is where I will begin sharing my picks.

George Burns and Gracie Allen played themselves in The Burns & Allen Show and transitioned from radio to television in 1950. Burns plays a straight guy and Allen plays the giddy confused dumb wife. They performed together for 30 years and had a strong marital bond sharing a great love and affection for each other. Gracie died at age 62 in 1964 while George lived to a ripe old age of 100 dying in March of 1996.

Ozzie & Harriet Nelson premiered in 1952 and started as a radio show. Talk about an oldie, this show was about a real family with their real children David & Ricky Nelson. Now when did reality TV really begin? Ozzie tried to raise the boys by steering them in the right direction and Harriet was the voice of reason. Many of the episodes were taken from the Nelsons real life.

Ralph & Alice Kramden starred Jackie Gleason and Audrey Meadows in the Honeymooners. Ralph was the overbearing and overweight husband who worked as a bus driver and had a very short fuse. Alice was the level headed wife who tried to tell Ralph his schemes would never work. He always wanted to strike it rich and prove her wrong but never did. He was a "know it all" and as many times as he wanted to send Alice to the moon, she gave it back to him. At the the end of every episode he always realized he was wrong and gave into Alice by saying "baby you're the greatest".

Howard & Marion Cunningham played by Marion Ross & Tom Bosley in Happy Days were a fantastic television couple. They had chemistry on screen and were great parents bring us comedy and some very emotional and warm hearted scenes. They set an example of the ideal parents to both their children and their children's friends.

Lucy & Ricky Ricardo played by Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in I Love Lucy were in love on camera and in real life. She schemed and wanted to be in the shows and the movies. He would sometimes get even but in the end they always forgave each other. They made us laugh and made us cry like the forgotten anniversary or when Lucy tried to tell Ricky she was pregnant. So many episodes I could watch over and over again.

Ethel & Fred Mertz played by Vivian Vance and William Frawley in I Love Lucy were a comedy team with insults, insults and more insults. Money hungry Fred and wife Ethel very rarely complemented each
