These are the different types of slippers available:
- Sheepskin. Sheepskin slippers are warm and comfortable and make great gifts, especially for Father's Day. Whether genuine or faux, sheepskin slippers will mold to the shape of your feet over time and become even more comfortable. They are ubiquitous gifts at Christmas time, and are appropriate presents for most any holiday. Dogs love to fetch 'em!

- Moccasins. Moccasins are casual slippers that may or may not be embellished or decorated. There are Native American moccasins, usually made from supple leather, sometimes fringed. Moccasins also make great driving slippers, as they are easy to take on and off, and can be worn indoors or outdoors.
- Animal. Animal slippers make a unique and unusual gift for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and are not just for kids. The designs are unlimited. They make great presents, especially if you know what type of animal the recipient likes. There are bunny slippers, moose slippers, dogs, cows, pigs, elephants, you name it. Some even make appropriate sounds and can be a little embarrassing! They are usually furry and soft, and comical. Not usually recommended for Valentine's Day gift-giving, unless your sweetheart has a sense of humor. Stick to sexy mules (the slippers, not the animals!) for occasions like wedding or baby showers.
- Therapeutic. Therapeutic slippers make appropriate gifts in the corporate or executive arena. They are also thoughtful presents for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, graduations, and retirement parties. Some therapeutic slippers feature massage or heat, which is a great idea. Show your loved one how romantic you are by giving them therapeutic slippers and a foot massage! Some feature magnets in the soles, which may offer some therapeutic benefit. These slippers are functional as well as attractive.
