These are the different types of pajamas and sleepwear available:
- Flannel pajamas. Great Christmas gifts for him or her, warm, toasty flannel pajamas are always comfy and welcome, although not usually very romantic! A sweet gift for kids to give on Mother's Day or Father's Day.
- Footed pajamas. Speaking of not terribly romantic, footed pajamas also fit the bill. Not just for kids, "footie" pajamas make a unique, unusual holiday gift for just about anyone, although not highly recommended as an anniversary present, unless you want to sleep alone on the couch!

- Silk pajamas. Now we're getting into more romantic territory. Silk pajamas, available for men and women, are luxurious and ideal gifts. Silk pajamas are appropriate for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, birthdays, or any occasion when you want to impress the recipient.
- Lingerie. Not recommended for corporate or executive gift-giving, lingerie is a very personal, private alternative to pajamas that can be as much a present for the giver as the recipient! Popular as baby shower and wedding shower gifts and as gag gifts at retirement parties and other corporate events, lingerie can be quite appropriate on Valentine's Day and wedding anniversaries as well, and is more romantic than pajamas.
- Robes. Robes are great for just about anyone on your holiday list. If pajamas seem a little too personal, robes are appropriate for corporate or executive gifts, graduations, or even retirement parties, and the sizing is easier than when buying pajamas.
