FLIGHT OF AUTUMN PASSION
Large sweeping fields of orange and gold
As the geese take flight with formation in the sky
And frost kisses the windows when the weather grows cold
The wind carries my song as it come sweeping on by.
Autumn rain pelts down the windows like tears
Forgotten love stains the carpet and clouds dust on the stairs
Out of the timbers and into the fire I place my fears
Your sweet melodic voice wipes free my cares.
Far from the room carries a familiar perfume
Of baked goods, our sweat and our passion
Your words so quiet share in the afternoons gloom
We are wrong to carry ourselves in a similar fashion.
Take me again to the dew in the grass
Where the day is long and sunrise lasts on
For now as I walk away the sunset already comes to pass
To a time when such vigorous love was spawn.
