Dancing with the Stars is one of a long list of reality television shows that sees people attempting to do something outside their normal sphere of activity. The added attraction of the show is that the contestants are note mere members of the public, but celebrities who hail from all sections of the entertainment industry from film, television and sport. Some of the contestants are painful to watch and highly entertaining at the same time, especially those who completely lack any sense of rhythm. The most popular are usually those who are at some disadvantage over the others due to looks, age or some disability. This is perhaps one of the reasons why PRISCILLA PRESLEY had become such a favorite with so many people who regularly watch the show. Her age alone was the main reason why so many rooted for Priscilla, even though she was clearly not the best dancer by any stretch of the imagination.

The woman who was once married to the most popular singer of his generation, Elvis Presley is now well past her prime and looking her age in spite of the attempts to stem the aging process through plastic surgery. This in no way detracts from the fact that Priscilla proved to be one of the crowd favorites, a staunch campaigner to the end. It has to be said in all honesty that Priscilla Presley will never make it in life as a professional dancer. She may not quite have "two left feet" but at times she was not far away from it. Her standing among the other contestants was from the outset, well down on the pecking order and she herself was aware of this. She made no pretense of being better than she was but gave her all as a contestant, knowing that the only way she would proceed in the competition was to receive sympathy votes from the public.

Watching some of the other contestants was another reason to favor Priscilla. Viewers like to pull for the underdog and some of the more accomplished dancers on the show are not really what many of the viewers want to see. There is a kind of perverse pleasure we derive from watching those who are less talented trying their best to perform at a high level. Priscilla Presley was rightly a big favorite among viewers because of her tenacity, coupled with the fact that she is no spring chicken. Never the most talented of the wannabe dancers, Priscilla proved to be one of the most entertaining as she tried to accomplish something that was clearly beyond her. Of all those who performed on Dancing with the Stars, Priscilla Presley was a clear favorite among many in spite of her lack of talent.
