There are many factors to consider when keeping a clean home or office. Are the pets or children? Is it a crowded home or office? Is the home or office prone to becoming dirty very quickly? To make it easier on myself during the day, I made my own little schedule of house cleaning to basically keep myself on track. I get side-tracked easily so if I don't stick to a schedule my work piles up on me quickly.

There are only two of us in our spacious apartment. We have two cats and a rabbit and are lucky that they shed very little. Even though there is little hair on the furniture and carpets, I vacuum and dust once a week. This cuts down greatly on itchy allergy eyes and tracked in dirt from the outside. Due to the kitty nose prints as well as handprints, I wash the windows when necessary. We have fold in windows which makes cleaning so much easier since we live on the third floor.

Bathrooms and kitchens can attract a lot of germs so I give them both a good scrub each week. I give the kitchen a wipe down every day since I do a lot of cooking. The bathrooms are cleaned daily with a quick wipe of the counters.

Laundry is every Sunday so I can get work clothes and such ready for the week. I usually end up hearing that my boyfriend needs some extra clothes washed after I'm done the cleaning and folding, but that's the usual in our home.

When and how often you clean your home depends on the household or office. If you're unsure of when and how often to clean, your senses and common sense will help you decide when is best.
