Paranormal phenomena involve acts or events that transcend natural and scientific laws. It is the occurrence of events that cannot be explained naturally or scientifically. Such events are normally supernatural in nature.
What does the Bible say about paranormal phenomena?
What to God is the natural and normal way of living is living supernaturally.
Different cultures and religions in the world have their way of manifesting and explaining paranormal acts; some for good and some for evil.
However, the Bible is full of paranormal events. Supernatural acts of God in the Bible can be referred to as paranormal events. These events can be referred to as God coming into the scene to help man, the creature He loves so much.
According to the Bible, man is expected to experience supernatural or paranormal occurrences all through his stay on earth. Man is expected to maintain spiritual contact with God Almighty, and to ably manifest supernatural acts whenever there is a need for them.
A very good example of supernatural acts in the Bible are instantaneous healing of the sick, raising the dead, stilling the wind, walking on water, and the like. These acts were performed by God's Children in situations where natural and scientific help wouldn't do.
The Bible teaches that God so loved the world. This love of God for mankind is unconditional. This unconditional love is what leads God to manifest Himself on earth in supernatural ways to help, assist, guide, and prosper mankind, far beyond natural and scientific methods and procedures. These kinds of acts are called "paranormal acts", because they are supernormal.
Who does the Bible say can perform paranormal acts?
Christians. The Bible also teaches that those who don't believe in God can also perform some supernatural acts in order to deceive and create more problems for man. However, supernatural acts wrought by God through Christians are to bring hope, joy, and love to man. Such acts are for good alone.
In the Bible, Christians are told to perform supernatural acts when there is a need. The Bible says they can perform these acts in the Name of Jesus Christ. A good example, as recorded in the Bible, is Peter healing a crippled man (Acts 3:1-9).
The supernatural act performed by Peter as recorded in the Bible is a simple obedience of the instruction of Jesus that those who believe in Him (that is Christians) would do the words He did and greater works (John 14:12). He told them the works to do (Mark 16:16-18) and how to do them (John 14:14).
These works are to be done in the Name of Jesus. That means a Christian can command a body to be healed, raise a person from the dead, command his business to prosper, and the like, all in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Christians all over the world are putting this to practice and the result of this is being felt.
