As most female gamers say, "We are select but numerous." I found that adventure games satisfied my appetite with the thrilling Tomb Raider game: action, adventure a whole new world, a different life; you were able to break out of the restraints of everyday living and become someone new. As with most girls, Tomb Raider is namely the one you start out on, and will never forget, even if the series changes and you don't suit the changes you still keep on playing them just because you can feel good about succeeding once again.

So lets look at the gaming industry as it is, with my friend working in the business informs me that the game genre most popular is the adventure games because of its broad age range, yet most games are classed as adventure anyway. This is only slightly in front of the FPS (I shake my head at these games, yes I'm a girl who can't hold the gun properly.)

This margin maybe changing due to the more complex strategies provided by the FPS which is aimed at a larger male audience, as well as the useful way of showing masculinity to other countries, I have heard the lads call each other "Noobs". This threatens the adventure genre, yet with the forth-coming release of Final Fantasy 12, Adventure games will carry on growing with time, and loyal fans will carry on buying these games to relive youthful memories, as well as escapism.
