Did you know that hiring a maid to come and clean up after your families 'dirty work' can save you time? It may not seem like much at first. If you add it all up, even if you only hire them occassionally, it could save you up to 300 hours. Thats a lot of time! Think of all the things you could be doing with 300 extra hours..
Thats 12.5 extra days a year!
Here's some things I could do with 300 extra hours a year....
Remodel The Bathroom
The bathroom is old and out dated. The toilet has this permanent odor that just can't be drowned out by air freshener. The bathtub starting to separate from the wall. Its time for a new bathroom! Get a DIY (Do It Yourself) manual from a hardware store, it should only take about 5 days to do it. You just need to have all the materials ready to go. Start planning to have them ready the day before you take your week off! I know I would love to have 12 and a half extra days to get my bathroom remodeled. I might even do the kitchen while I am at it.
Extra Sleep
One of the biggest problems in todays culture is the lack of needed sleep. There is never enough time in a day to do everything. This is doubled up when you have a family and kids to think about as well. It is an endless cycle. Now think, if you could cut out the laundry, the dishes and cleaning up when you get home, what would you have left? You could easily cook dinner, go to the bathroom, finish your work report and go to bed early.
Relieving stress and having extra time during the day could calculate to 300 extra hours of sleep you got! Scientists say, "You can never get back the sleep that you lost." They suggest that lack of sleep can cause a person to age faster, stress out more, and some people lose the ability to function properly. Do you really want to be that weird guy who drools on the bus before he limps to his cubicle?
I don't. Hiring a maid can add extra time to your life line, seriously!
The To Do List
Do you have any projects you've been wanting to do, but you just can't squeeze in the time? A model plane you wanted to build. Maybe a gardening project that has been on the back burner for years. Anything will do, maybe even a project or two.
12.5 days is almost two weeks of free time. Time that is no longer cluttered by scattered chores and things that need to be done. This means you could take on a few leisure activities you've been meaning to do.
Vacation Time!
It is so important throughout or busy lives to remember to take a moment to relax and do something for ourselves. Whether that is a week of cozy coach surfing, or a trip to sea world. Nearly two weeks of spare time means that you actually get a vacation! I know a 'vacation' for me usually means spending two weeks cleaning out the garage, cleaning in places that haven't been cleaned all year, or taking care of other dirty jobs that need attention.
If you think about it realistically, you even saved money by hiring a maid. Because of the relaxed environment when you get home everyday, you're able to be more productive both at work and at home. That means you make more money and save more too!
