To hire a maid - what luxury! The concept of hiring a maid is really exciting and uplifting for my soul - I would be helping someone by giving them employment. That, in itself, is commendable. The many benefits to my newly enhanced lifestyle would greatly outweigh the cost of her weekly salary. My maid would need to come in at least three days a week for six hours each day to clean my house, do the laundry and the ironing, and prepare the meals. I would take my time in interviewing and selecting my maid to make sure I hired the right person to carry out the job to my full satisfaction. I would choose a maid who would be totally self-motivated without me having to follow her around to check that she was dusting and cleaning properly. My maid would also become my friend. I would not be condescending in any way at all.
Freed from the chains of housework drudgery, I could stay in bed til late. I could soak in a bubble bath for hours relaxing and reading my favorite book of the moment. I could watch television all day long in my nightie, if I didn't feel like getting dressed. I would have the time to go to the gym, give myself a daily beauty makeover, and even paint my now long, well-manicured nails knowing they were not going to become chipped from that dreaded "H" word housework. I'm quite sure that I could enjoy the lifestyle of being pampered and totally self-obsessed.
But no, pleasurable though it would be, I would not be frivolous and vain. My thoughts of pure bliss would not be of using my precious spare time to improve my body image. I would become totally self-centered in a more positive way, hugging myself with thoughts of indulging in my newly-found spare time to improve my mind. I would spend many happy hours with my computer composing articles and poems logging on to Helium. I could gain a five stars plus rating. I would have lots of time to enter all the competitions and get to know my fellow writers. Having the time to lose myself in creativity all day long - that, for me, would be the epitome of heaven on earth.
