THE SOURCES OF PARANORMAL PHENOMENA:
Paranormal phenomena in the Bible come through several sources. They come DIRECTLY FROM GOD.One such event was the parting of the Red Sea during the Exodus, (Ex. 14: 21-31 ). JESUS WAS THE SOURCE of many such events, one being when Lazarus raised from the dead (John 11:38-44), another was when He (Jesus) walked on the water ( Matt 14:25 Mark 6:48 John 6:15). PROPHETS AND DISCIPLES were used by God to perform many paranormal events in the Bible. Finally, some came through NON-BELIEVERS such as Pharoah's magicians before the Exodus in the Old Testament, and many who performed miracles in the name of Jesus but were not believers in the New Testament. The list of these events is very long.
TYPES OF PARANORMAL PHENOMENA:
Paranormal Phenomena involved 1) healing as with Naaman cured of leprosy, Gehazi afflicted with it (2 Kings 5:10-27); 2) acts of nature being altered when the sun and moon stayed, and Hailstorm (Josh. 10:12-14 ); 3) mighty acts of God to protect and provide for His people such as when manna was sent daily, except on Sabbath (Ex. 16:14-35) and The Red Sea divided; Israel passes through (Ex. 14:21-31 ); 4) Jesus overriding nature when he knew the hearts and minds of men, and more.
PARANORMAL EVENTS CAME THROUGH BOTH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND EVIL SPIRITS:
As one reads and studies all of these events, and many more such as the prophecies that were spoken and fulfilled, and many paranormal events in battles, as well as the ones that were performed my magicians and sorcerers, and prophets to other gods, one discovers that there are powers of many kinds that have performed mighty acts. The one thing that stands out from the Bible study is that the greatest and mightiest of these acts come from Almighty God. In many of the stories God's prophets were tested by the prophets of other gods and God's prophets out did the others. Just as with Moses and Aaron when they went to free the Israelites, and the magicians could not do what God could do through Moses and Aaron.
SIGNS AND WONDERS:
Many of these events in the Old Testament and New Testament were considered as signs, and were also a picture of future events. One such event was the Passover. There were signs to give hope to God's people, or to warn the enemy of God. Some were called "wonders" because they were just awesome events that amazed the people. These paranormal events were more than just wonders, because they led many to believe and follow
