Poetry: Tears

I cry, thinking of you,
my tears always falling down,
today, down to the pavement,
last night, down into my pillow,
two years ago, down to the earth,
streaming down my face.

I wish I could cry
with my tears falling up,
up to you in heaven
so you could see
the inside of my tears.
I want you to see
the love, the memories,
my loneliness, my heartache,
the smiles and the goose bumps,
the desire to hear your voice again,
all of those things and so much more
that are inside of my tears,
each and every one of them
that makes my throat swell in pain.

I will send u a tear, or a few,
from my dreams tonight,
please send one back
to me, from you,
from your heart,
so I can see what
is inside of your tears.

I'll bet our tears
are mirrors of each other,
that we feel the same,
that you have all the same
things inside of your tears.
I hope to see you
in my dreams tonight,
there is nothing that I want more,
I miss you so much daddy.
