Poetry: Whatever it takes

by Emiliana Silvestri

Created on: September 01, 2008

It took me a while to get here
and I have no desire to turn back
your patience has been sweet dear
even when my time has been black
whatever it takes to keep you
I can finally do
whatever it takes to stay here
laughing next to you
it took me some time to realise
it took some time to say
always trying to analyse
how to relax and stay
I told you of the dark times
you told me about the pain
I can hear the sound of tender chimes
I need to kiss you in the rain
whatever it takes to have you
lying by my soul
whatever it takes to see you
and make this feeling whole
take me soon please gentle man
and let me nest your home
for you give me stregth and freedom
together we should roam
whatever it takes
my love, my friend
whatever it takes
my beginning, my end
