Everybody wants to be something they're not. Most like to pretend their millionaires, while others pretend to be homeless for begging money. On the other hand, Mormons enjoy falsely labeling themselves "Christians."
The beliefs of the LDS church strongly differ from that of the true Christianity. In the book of Revelations 22:18 it says, "I warn everyone who hears the words of prophecy of this book: if anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book." Specifically, what John, the author of that verse, was trying to say was that there can't be any more books after the New Testimate was written. In addition, if anyone would care to look at Hebrews 1:1-2, it clearly stated that there cannot be any prophet after the bible was written. That also means that there couldn't have been any prophets in 1820! Also, who's to say that Jesus ever came to America, the bible doesn't even hint that, nor does it hint that there was an angle Moroni. In fact, it's quite possible that the "angle" Moroni was a demon because what the angle Moroni told Joseph Smith contradicted scripture, which an angle of light is not allowed to do. Although the Mormon Church denies it, The Book of Mormon actually was plagiarized from an unpublished novel. actually fictional work, titled Manuscript Found, written by a retired Congregational Protestant minister named Solomon Spalding, who died in 1816. Large parts are also plagiarized from the King James Version of the Bible. Among other errors, The Book of Mormon makes numerous claims about society in pre-Columbian North America, which totally contradicts the archaeological evidence. The truth is, that Mormons are not Christians, but a false cult.
Christians believe in the true word of God as the only way to go. Christianity originally developed as a part of Judaism and had a Jewish messiah. Also, he was around from about 3 BC to 30 AD. Christianity separated from the main body of Judaism. In addition they believe that God made a covenant with the Jewish people that the gospel could only be understood through them. They even wrote the whole bible. The bible is a sacred book that has no second part or a sequel. Additionally, Jesus never left the main land of Israel where he spoke the gospel. In Christianity, it's either you take God's way or the highway.
Mormons would love the title of Christian. The only way that would happen is if they made a serious reevaluation. In the future, I plan on spreading the word of how Mormons are Christian imposters.
