Post Bellum
Forgive me just this once, as I have done
so many times before; but never won.
Slander me until your tongue sets fire,
for all of my pain is born of desire.
So, forgive me once: I'll beg and I'll plead.
Break me with your stare, drop me to my knees

beat me around till I'm covered in blood.
Set me afire until I can learn,
until I shatter like a falling urn-
when all that's left is my broken emblem.

so many times before; you shall not twice.
I'll never again slight your wishes,
my dear, however could I? Can't my love
for your every flaw make you feel alright?
You're the root of my every ambition.
