Are you still considering whether or not to hire a maid? There does not seem to be enough hours in the day for us to complete all the tasks that we need to do. When we do have free time it is spent cleaning, organizing, and doing laundry instead of relaxing and unwinding after a busy week.
Some of us have a hard time letting go of the idea that we can do it all. Of course we can do it all, but do we really want to? Think of what you could do with that free time if someone else was taking care of mopping the floors, dusting, and scrubbing the toilets.
Make a calculated decision. Break down the hours you spend doing the cleaning and the cost of having someone else do this work for you.
Cost:
$70.00-5 hours per week for a maid.
$10.00-Cleaning supplies per week-purchased monthly and averaged out.
Total cost per week-$80.00
Benefits:
5 extra hours per week
20 extra hours per month
A professional cleaning
Increased quality of health
You cannot put a price tag on peace of mind or the extra few hours you will have to relax and spend time with your family. The options you have for using that free time are endless. With the free hours that you once spent cleaning and picking up after everyone, now you could arrange a family outing. A fun filled afternoon spent becoming reacquainted with your loved ones.
You could finally take up that hobby that you always wanted to do. Read a book, or take some me time and do something just for you. The peace and calm of this could re-energize your life. You could even put in those few extra hours at work that kept you from receiving a much-needed promotion if you really wanted to, although I would not recommend replacing precious free time with more work.
The benefits of hiring a maid far outweigh the costs. You know that you can do it all but the real benefit is that you don't have to.
