Organic bulk food
Although a huge proportion of human population have resorted to organic food still many people have a very vague description of the term "organic bulk food". To start with, let us know what it actually means. Organic food refers to the food that has been manufactured with respect to some production standards which means that they have been produced without the use of insecticides, pesticides, hormones, artificial fertilizers, sewage mud and human wastes. No food additives or ionizing rays are required for its processing.
In most cases, the farmer used to inject hormones in the bodies of livestock and add fertilizers for the plants. This was done in order to induce their growth when they were being fed on normal diets. Now, with the advent of organic food, farmers can directly provide this food to the plants and cattle for their proper nutrition. There is no need to use antibiotics or growth hormones any more. These foods are sold in the market in quantities that will be edible only for a span of time. Many people these days are purchasing bulk organic food either from organic stores of the United States or from several websites that are offering free home delivery of organic bulk food.
Organic food has experienced huge growth over the recent years. The Organic Trade Association is expecting an eighteen percent growth in organic food throughout the world by the year 2010. As a matter of fact, organic coffee has made huge profit over the recent years and has reached a billion in sales in the year 2006. Various types of organic bulk food are produced throughout the world which includes dog food, organic pet food, organic baby food and organic cat food.
What are the utilities of organic food?
Organic bulk food can be used for various purposes which includes the following: -
1) Prevents health problems related to the use of pesticides: - There are certain pesticides that can cause cancer and other harmful diseases. In agriculture, use of organic food can prevent health risks that result from ingestion of harmful chemicals present in pesticides. As a matter of fact, insecticides and pesticides are made of synthetic chemicals which are sometimes non-biodegradable. These toxic chemicals get washed by water and enter the food chain where they get accumulated in the bodies of animals which are usually secondary or tertiary consumer. This phenomenon is known as "biomagnification". Organic food is thus an important measure to combat biomagnification. Moreover, it also contains Vitamin C and minerals like magnesium, calcium, chromium and iron.
2) Great taste of organic food: - For some people, organic foods are better than non-organic foods in matters of flavor and taste. The reason for this taste is that organic vegetables and fruits have a very little water content and they take a lot of time to mature completely which contributes to its rich flavor.
3) Maintain a healthy ecosystem: - Bulk organic food can serve as a good alternative to chemical fertilizers and can prevent soil pollution. It can conserve water and give rise to normal and healthy soil. Organic agriculture encourages the conservation of wildlife by preserving forage crops, wetlands, fence rows and natural resources.
4) Provide nourishment to plants and animals: - While for plants, bulk organic food can stop the use of pesticides, organic fish pellets and can provide nutrition to fishes in your aquarium.
