How to succeed at any job by understanding you are always self-employed

your boss and how you have added to the company's bottom line. This is a much more powerful position to be in than, "But, I really need this raise!".

Another aspect of an entrepreneurial attitude or mindset is that WE ARE ALL SELF-EMPLOYED. It's important to see things as they truly are, and in a sense, we ALL are self-employed. With a job, the product or service we are selling is our work and the employer is the customer who buys our work. If you refuse to look at your work this way, you will be doing yourself a disservice. It's really the first step in actually doing something about your situation instead of simply complaining about it to anyone who will listen. If you have not already done so, give yourself permission to be a doer instead of a complainer. You certainly have my permission!

Keep in mind that there is more, but this is a start. Remember, you can also start a business on the side while you work at your job. I intend to write more articles on that, too. When you grow your business to the point where it brings in more income after taxes than your current job, you can decide if you want to leave your old job behind. Please keep an open mind for your own good. Read articles or books with substance, not just short stuff that might only be written to make money but does little to enlighten you. I have done my best to keep this article concise, but I have included ideas that truly work, IF you apply them. I have worked with Cannon Business Institute (formerly Cannon Training & Development) for years and know Fran Cannon, the owner, personally. I count him as both a friend and a mentor. Remember, we are all self-employed!
