THE GIRL/THE BOY
The Girl-
was honest and true.
she kissed his eyes
before she slept.
she remembered his
favourite colour.
she sent him letters
and bought him books
he wanted to read.
The Boy-
was sweet at times,
was forgetful at times,
was lazy at times.
he told her he loved her
but never remembered
her favourite colour;
but never sent
her any letters;
but never bought
her any books.
one day-
The Boy-
finally wrote a note
placed it in an envelope on The Girl's pillow.
The Girl-
smiled when she saw it,
tore it open, read it.
"I love you, but I cannot stay."
with her broken heart,
sitting on his side of the bed,
she wrote
The Boy-
a letter-
he would never get to read.
