Though traditional family roles have certainly changed over the past 20 years, dividing up household chores can still be a problem. One way to alleviate the pesky problem of dishes and laundry and make peace in the family is to hire a maid. Hiring a maid will leave your family with more time to spend together and perhaps even provide a valuable savings for the family funds.
The average cost of a maid is generally around $50 to $60 a week. This price would usually include the thorough cleaning of a medium sized home including vacuuming, dusting, dishes and bathroom cleaning. Some maids offer other special services such as carpet cleaning and errand running for an additional charge.
For families on the go, hiring a maid can be one of the best possible ways to save time and money. Family members would have as many as 6 extra hours a week, just by delegating housework and chores to a maid. Parents and children can use those hours as special bonding time. You can:
1. Play board games.
2. Sit down and have a nice dinner with the family.
3. Provide more help with homework.
4. Relax together as a family.
5. Devote your full attention to your family and friends instead of your chores.
Studies have proven that stress is one of the leading causes of disease. Having your home nice and clean when you return from work reduces stress, thereby reducing doctors visits and time off work for illness. Taking into account hours saved by not doing chores and money saved by running fewer errands and taking less time off from work, the money saved by hiring a maid can often outweigh the costs.
