they appeared to the shepherds? Was Jesus a ghost when he appeared to the disciples? To the extent that they did not the same physical presence as those they appeared before at that time it could be said that this was the case. Today we talk about good and evil ghosts, but in essence this was happening back at the time that Jesus walked the earth. Is it so surprising that this paranormal event would continue throughout the millenniums since the time of Jesus?
Telepathy
On many occasions throughout the Bible, we are told of messages that people received from God, which were not heard by others. In truth, this is the paranormal event of telepathy. To this day, scientists cannot explain this phenomenon. Yet there are still countless recorded events of this happening. The twin that hears the call for help from the other. The times that people ring someone only to be told "I was just thinking of you." These are telepathic incidences in the same way that it has been described in the Bible.
Psychic Prediction
Remember the prediction of Jesus when he said to Peter "Before the cock crows?" It happened that Peter denied his master just as Jesus predicted. Remember too the predictions of the scribes when they said that "there will be wars and rumours of wars." We are living that prediction today, just as the paranormal writing of those years ago were predicting. Today psychic predictions are being made all the time and yet still these events are outside of the laws of scientific explanation.
Medical miracles
Think of the number of medical cases that are reported where a person that had an apparently terminal illness suddenly makes a miraculous recovery. Then think back to the paranormal explanations of similar events recorded in the Bible. The Blind man given sight, the invalid who took up his bed and walked, the man Lazarus who was raised from the dead.
The phenomenon of the paranormal has been around since God created the earth and the Bible is a living testament to that fact. Indeed from the arguments that have been made within this article it could be said that the paranormal is God's province and that is why it defies the laws and explanations of science.
It seems peculiar that we, including scientists, accept that these paranormal events occur today and yet many have so much difficulty in believing that the records of paranormal events in the Bible were equally true.
Furthermore, if we accept that paranormal events occur, why do many find it so difficult to accept the greatest paranormal event of all, this being the immaculate conception of Jesus Christ.
