There is little anyone can say in words on this subject that will convince a person whether God is real, or an invention. Logically speaking, I have seen good arguments both ways. But arguments will never solve anything. Is God real? I believe that He is. No, I KNOW that He is. But can I convince anyone else of that? Do I have proof of it? No. For we are human. And those who believe in God also believe that he gave us free will. It is up to us, individually, to seek, find, believe, and know of His existance. It is only in our hearts that we can do this. I equate what we feel in our hearts as "spiritual knowledge" and what we know in our minds as "physical knowledge". We need to use both in order to know God. If you didn't know about any teachings about God, you might have an open heart and "feel" His presence, but not understand what it is. With a closed heart, you can know all about God, but not believe because "seeing is believing." When you use both, you will "see" God with your spiritual mind, and then you will believe.
To me everything on this planet is evidence of God. But you cannot use these things as proof, because there are good arguments against them. You cannot say that the beauty in the mountains and the oceans are proof of God, because an atheist will say they are simply proof of the power of nature. You also can't use evidences of religious history as proof. You cannot say things like, God must be real because Mary was visited by the archangel and became the virgin Mary, otherwise where did baby Jesus come from? Well, an atheist will just wink and say, "Yeah, where do you think?" Blashphemy to us, but pure logic to the atheist.
The only way I can explain to an atheist how I believe, and how I know God is real, is that I can FEEL that He is. Again, no proof there. But to me, personally, this is more tangible than references to things in the past or to things of nature. Once you open your heart to God, your soul can find Him. When you have done that, you will feel a sort of peace that you have never known otherwise. This simple exercise can be done by anyone, in any religion. Just close your eyes, open your mind and your heart, and tell God that you are here and want to know Him. The sensation of peace is very calming.
I don't blame God for the bad things in my life. Things happen. We are human, and human bodies degrade over the years. As I get older and things begin to break down and not work as they once did, I realize that this is simply the nature
