All cats enjoy treats, and you are advised to feed them sparingly because, just like people snacks, they tend to be high in fat content and low in nutritional value. However, we have some recipes for healthy, homemade treats you can fix for your kitty. These easy to make treats are actually good for your cat, and your kitty is sure to love them.
Chicken Crunchies
1 cups whole wheat flour
1 cups rye flour
1 cups brown rice flour
1 cup wheat germ
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cups chicken broth
1 pound ground chicken
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray cookie
sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine flour and wheat germ in large bowl. Slowly add vegetable oil, chicken broth, and ground chicken, and mix well to form dough. Roll dough to thickness of 1/8 inch, and bake until golden brown. Cool, then break into cat bite-sized pieces.
Store leftovers in tightly sealed container in refrigerator.
Kitty Kisses
1 can of your cat's favorite food
teaspoon catnip
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Spray cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine cat food and catnip in blend and blend until it is the consistency of frosting. Spoon mixture into Ziploc bag and cut off one corner. Use like pastry bag to squeeze little "kisses" onto cookie sheet. Bake about 15 minutes. Cool before serving.
Store in tightly sealed container in refrigerator.
Salmon Snacks

3 cups oatmeal
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 egg

Combine all ingredients in bowl and mix well to form dough. Roll out dough to inch thickness. Let cool, then break into bits.
Store in tightly sealed container in refrigerator.

the flour mixture a little at a time, mixing well to form
dough. Roll dough out to inch thickness and cut
into cat bite-size pieces. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cool
before serving.
