Poetry: Love's anguish

lOVE MADE OF SAND

Yes, I feel it too.

Yes, I feel the coldness, the emptiness, matter of factness of it all too. That 2 weeks ago we were in love and planning a wedding. But the forecast was there - a major hurricane was coming again - it is hurricane season. You know it's out there and coming your way. The only thing you can do is prepare for it, move out of its way. But we didn't do it. We stayed. And it destroyed us.

Yes, I feel the sadness too. That our dreams could not manifest in the environment of that deadly hurricane named Past. That the man I've always dreamed of, and finally met and hoped to live my life with, was taken away by it because we weren't prepared. As Hurricane Past blows out of our lives again, the love we thought would see us through lays torn to little bits by it's force.

Yes, it feels so strange looking at the lifeless shell of love.

If I had my way, I would rebuild my House of Love out of bricks instead of sand. I would build a levee so strong and high that when its force came through again, my House of Love would be protected.
