Famous people from Maine

The staring line up for Maine would be writers and artist. There is Stephen King a writer and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow a poet, both are from Portland, Maine. Edna St. Vincent a poet from Rockland and Edwin Arlington Robinson from Alna. Authors Harriet Beecher Stowe is from Brunswick and E.B. White is from North Brooklin, Maine. Marsden Hartley haled from Lewiston and Catie Curtis a folk singer and songwriter from Saco, Maine.

Yes sir ladies and gentlemen, look at what Portland have, Andrea Martin actress and comedian, Judd Nelson, Victoria Rowell, Liv Tyler, and Linda Lavin. You talk about hamming it up, actors and actress coming from Maine is very common. Do not forget (Abbott) Vaughn Meader a comedian and David E. Kelly a producer/director, both are from Waterville, Maine. Abraham Lincoln had a Vice President from Maine; he was Hannibal Hamlin of Paris Hill. In addition, there is Margaret Chase Smith, U.S. senator from Skowhegan. Melville Fuller, Chief Justice U.S. Supreme Court, of Augusta, Maine. There also was, General Joshua L. Chamberlain, of Brunswick, Maine a civil war soldier and politician.

Entrepreneur, L.L. Bean hailed from Freeport, Maine and Chester Greenwood; an inventor got his ideas in Farmington, Maine.

Maine got it going on!

Look around in your backyard; you never know whom you might meet.

Look in the mirror, there might be a famous person looking back.

It is not where you are from but where you want to go!
