Drinking and Driving, for Those Who Don't Understand.

Having an impaired charge on your record is a tough object to hide. Every job you apply for and don't get can leave you wondering if it is because of your record you now have. Chances are it has a lot to do with you not getting the job of your dreams. But for first time offenders you loose more than just your license for one year, but your freedom as well.

Having to either walk or take city transit can not only be a tough change to make, but can add up if you use taxi services too. Not having your own vehicle robs you of independence, having too continuously ask others for a ride can steal your self confidence. So you see it isn't just losing the use of your vehicle and license, it affects your life in almost every aspect.

My perspective is taken from my own experiences, having two impaired charges before I had turned twenty three, I always seem to have to learn the hard way. The two main differences I found when going to my court dates, was that if you spend the big money to get a high priced lawyer. The first time through it was mostly this is what the police report says, and what was going to happen. There was no plan, no preparation by my lawyer, where as the high price lawyer is fighting for your money, and with favorable results. So bringing in the heavy hitter so to speak was the way to go, it may have cost me a few thousand dollars but in the long run let me till you it saved me ten times that. Here are some of my reasons I will share with you.
When I was eighteen I had my first impaired, I tried several times to remand the case, after hearing through the grape vine that if you can remand your case a few times they will throw it out. This is not true, the time my case was remanded also was time I had no license, being it is suspended until your court date. So after trying this delay tactic, it cost me a year and
