the door open for another run for the highest office in the land and proved that a woman is as formidable a candidate for president as any man. That glass ceiling isn't just cracked, it's blown wide open for future women of power and foresight to run for president of the United States of America.
I wonder why she wasn't picked as Obama's running mate. Senator Joe Biden is almost sixty-six. Biden is a stalwart of the Democratic Party, outspoken and loquacious, honest, brimming with integrity and foreign policy experience and known for his readiness to work across party lines on legislation that protects all Americans. But Biden will be seventy-five at the end of an Obama two-term administration leaving the Democrats' without an incumbent VP to take on another eight years. Is it possible we might see Biden step down in 2012 and Hillary Clinton run as Obama's vice presidential candidate?
General Wesley Clark in his run for the nomination in 2004 said, "It may take fifty years to undo the damage that a second term of Bush-Cheney will cause." I'm a Republican who feels disenfranchised. I'm from several generations of Republicans and I see our nation in crisis. I'm not rich but I'm not stupid. The Bush-Cheney administration has systematically reduced the value of my home, stolen the benefits from my wife's job, and threatened the future of our twin daughters. I will vote for the Obama-Biden ticket, and would consider voting for an Obama-Clinton ticket in 2012 and Hillary Clinton for president in 2016. Her campaign and her convention speech convinced me.
