I'll Never Forget
When I was young, gardening was a big part of the lives of my family. We would have huge gardens that we had to hoe forever, or at least it seemed that way. Even though, at times, it felt like a cruel punishment working in the hot sun for hours; I'll never forget running barefoot and letting the cool dirt squish between my toes. It is something that few people this day in time have experienced; but I got to do it on a regular basis.
I'm older now and have a family of my own. Though, raising a garden is not a necessity like it was when I was a kid; my husband and I still plant one, every so often, just for the fun of it. To this day, I still like to, occasionally, slip off my shoes and let the cool dirt squish between my toes. I guess, some things you just never out grow.
