"To everything there is a season".
I have enjoyed my life tremendously here on earth. I have been abused emotionally, mentally and sexually but, it still does not ruin the fact that I was put here for a reason. Maybe, I was the one to send that one to prison for raping me so that he wouldn't do it again to another woman. I guess I was and I withstood all that went with it. There was a reason for it and I guess God chose me. That's the way I look at it.
I have had some good times, I have had some bad times. That all comes with life on earth. You can handle it. When God thinks you have had enough, He throws in the towel.
It seems I have worked all my life. I do not complain about that. When I was thirteen, I was picking cotton on my granddaddy's farm. That is hard and hot work - but, the beauty of it all, was that I was in the clean fresh air and right next to the plum grove where we could enjoy the late summer's fruit. It made us strong and built character because we had already spent a half day in school.
When we weren't busy, we could wander into the woods and be alone or take someone with us to hunt the muscadines or visit the persimmon tree. Sometimes, we'd sneak off into my Great Grandmothers' grown over pasture and eat the hard, green apples from her gnarled old tree, that grew by the pond.
Then, when we moved to the city, we still worked and attended school, acquiring a credit for the jobs we did. We hardly had time for dates, but, we had them and now I wonder, how did we edge them in?
Our jobs were only small ones, but, they attributed to earning profits that the businesses netted. Every little bit helped them and mother.
Then, came the marriages and babies after high school. College was not a thing of our family so mother did not encourage us to attend. She had raised us the way she was raised.
Before the marriages and children, we had full time jobs so we could help mother with the rent and bills. This helped her and us.
During our adult lives, one of us four would be divorced and mother would live with that daughter and her children, helping each other out.
I see the importance of each of us being on earth. We are here for a reason if only to play a small part while here on earth.
I didn't see that while I was out so busy working, raising children and scurrying here and there but, since I am retired, I have had time to think about it and you can read in Ecclesiastes 3, in the Bible that there is a reason and time for everything under the sun.
