"Give This to Her if She asks About Me"
I saw you only one time
You were beautiful and so small
Then you were taken away
Lost down a long lonely white hall
I gave you up to them
I knew that they would love you
I knew they would provide
And do what I could not do
You wouldn't have wanted me
I would have been terrible for you
You did not need my lifestyle
I was not someone you should look to
Giving you up forever
Was harder than you could know
The pain was almost too much
I did not want to let go
So now I'm writing this letter
With one hope in my mind
I hope that you will forgive me
And leave your grief behind
Your new life is better
Than one I could ever give
I hope that you'll find love
In all of the days you live
One day when you are older
You'll read this for the first time
I can only have the hope
That you will forgive my crime
Please appreciate the life you've been given
Without a second glance
Love your new family as well as you can
They are your second chance

For my plea of forgiveness to reach her.
She remained silent and I followed suit,

I sometimes sit and wonder
why I say the things I do.
The cruel and thoughtless things I say
I know are hurting you.
