Food Satisfaction
My coffee's hot to start the day,
And now I'm well along my way.
My morning starts and time to cram,
I eat bacon, eggs, toast and jam.
Sometimes I might even have some ham.
Whatever I eat, that's who I am.
Meats are part of a diet each day
There's beef, or pork, or chicken some way
And fish or shrimp or lobster to eat
Potatoes and gravy add to the treat.
Green beans or corn or asparagus we like
Or tomatoes and peas before a hike
To work where I find treats galore
And sometimes like to eat even more.
Apples and plums and peaches at times
Feel good in my belly, and that's not a crime.
To substitute oranges or grapes for a treat
What would we do if we couldn't eat?
Then time for dinner and who knows what
Wonderful foods we find we've got
We end with dessert which is sweet to the taste
There's pie or cake or cookies, no waste.
End of day and bedtime arrives
Our appetite tells us we need to contrive
For some kind of snack to satisfy us
We can go to bed now with out a fuss.
Popcorn or candy or crackers and such
Will fill us up good and please us so much
To bed and to sleep and only to wish
In our sweet dreams we'll have a great dish.
