Consideration of how valuable the reading is to the seeker should also go into the decision-making regarding paying for a reading. Most people tend to neglect, abuse, or ignore anything that they have not had to put some effort into attaining. If a person gets a reading free of charge, will they value the assistance as much as they would if they had to pay for it? Getting a reading for free makes it much easier to dismiss the parts of the reading that forced you to see truths you did not really want to know.

I think a psychic should be recompensed for services provided. However, the psychic should not set the fee. Only the person seeking assistance knows whether the reading has been of value, and only the higher being knows whether the message was properly interpreted and passed on to the seeker. I think it reflects a psychic's egotism, not spiritualism, when he or she sets a price on the assistance given. I believe it is best to revert to the ancient system of payment. It tends to weed out those with less ability, as well as encourages each person to seek out their own spiritual abilities. Moreover, it weeds out those who are only curious and those who would waste everyone's precious time by seeking advice they have no intention of following.
