Should you have to pay for a psychic reading

for a reading may or not be serious about the reading, the psychic is always serious, and should be shown respect.

In the past ages of human existence, every individual in the community showed this respect to those of psychic ability. Although each individual was responsible for his or her own spirituality, those with higher ability were given a place of honor in the community. As humankind started forming tribes and communities, people had less time to spend communicating with the spirit realm. Thus, most tribes and communities created positions of high importance for those who could appropriately interpret the messages from gods, goddesses, angels, spirit guides, or animal totems. These positions were the medicine men/women, shamans, high priests or priestesses, and oracles, or other religious clerics.

It was the duty of these members of society to spend their lifetime in communication with the spirit realm so other people could concentrate on the physical realm, and still get spiritual guidance when needed. In order for these people to be able to devote more time to their spiritual trade, everyone in the community or tribe provided for all the spiritual leader's physical needs. There were no questions asked about whether the psychic person should be paid or not. Each person seeking assistance presented the spiritual leader with something that was of equal value to the help sought after. How well off the spiritual leader was reflected how much talent, ability, and wisdom that individual possessed.

As human civilizations advanced, various formal religions took the place of the more basic spiritual belief systems. People were encouraged to turn to the leaders of their churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples for all their spiritual problems. The spiritual leaders instilled a fear of the spirit realm into their followers, telling them it was wrong to use their own psychic abilities. The masses soon forgot that they themselves had the ability to take care of all their spiritual needs. Therefore, the members of the formal religions continued to provide for the physical needs of their spiritual leaders, just as it was done in ancient times.

Now, in our modern time, people have become dissatisfied with the quality of the spiritual guidance given by their spiritual leaders. These spiritual leaders may become too involved with the physical realm and so do not properly maintain their spiritual connections. Many of these people now have to hold regular jobs, no longer
