Women's fashion: How to dress business casual and still look like an executive

We all enjoy the freedom that causal business dress allows us in the workplace. However, dressing business casual is not always easy. You want to be comfortable, appear stylish, and still look like an executive, even when you're wearing jeans to work. If you're presenting yourself to the public, a client, or just your office colleagues, and wearing business casual, here are some pointers that will help you create a crisp, yet casual business image of an executive.

Jeans

Everyone loves to wear jeans. When you have several pairs of "good" jeans for work, then you're on your way to your executive casual styling. Separate the jeans you tend to live-in, do yard work and chores in and keep those dark, creased, well cared for jeans hung neatly, ready for business casual wear. No torn hems, no ill-fitting jeans, no holes, no matter how chic they are at the time.

White Blouse

The classic white blouse is amazing, a must have for an executive in a business casual situation. With jeans, khakis, any style of casual slacks, a white blouse is dazzling and versatile. Worn with jeans, and an attractive belt, the white blouse has the ability to be the basic pallet for a variety of business casual polished looks. Elevate the look of the white blouse by accessorizing it. You can be casual and add some interest to the white blouse with scarves, shawls, a special brooch at the neck, strings of pearls, sweaters, jackets, or vests, even if you're wearing jeans. Of course, casual business code does allow you to wear blouses in other colors. You decide what suits you best and what makes you feel good about how you look in your sharp, freshly laundered, solid colored, blouse.

The Basic Gap T-Shirt

Nothing beats the basic Gap T-shirt for fit and comfort at a good price. For business causal the Gap T-shirt is a must have. You'll find that the t-shirt can be dressed up and worn for business wear. Use some of the same accessorizing suggestions listed above for the white blouse. Wear a t-shirt under a blouse with or without a belting it for a business casual look, toss a denim jacket over it and you're set for the office. No tank tops or camisoles, ever.

Dresses

Business casual does mean dresses are allowed. Just be careful not to show too much skin, or consider wearing your sun dresses or anything that resembles sleep-wear in the business environment. There's a wide variety of dresses that are perfectly suited for business casual, so choose styles that easy to wear and not too revealing.
