The medicinal properties of honey

Honey is the name for that sweet yellow liquid produced by bees. It is natural and sweet. Like water, natural unadulterated honey has no side effects.

Honey has being reported to be a cure for different kinds of diseases; and testimonies still abound till today.

Here are some of the medicinal properties of honey:

Healing of acid reflux

Be it GERD, hyperacidity, gas or any kind of indigestion, taking enough natural honey daily is said to be an effective natural cure. Honey neutralizes the excess acid while maintaining normal bowel functioning. It also boosts the immune system, supplying the body with the right vitamins to treat the cause of the reflux, especially if it were due to wrong contraction of the stomach muscles or abnormal relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES).

Healing of throat problems

Honey is said to have effectively treated throat problems like laryngitis (inflammation of the larynx or voice box), sore throats, cough, and epiglottis. Honey soothes the throat when taken in slowly. Some advise mixing it with lemon juice in hot water and gargling.

People who mixed with lemon juice and hot water, and those who just took natural unheated honey have all claimed to have being cured of different throat problems.

Honey contains riboflavin, other vitamins and other health elements like calcium. All this helps boost the immune system. And because of the anti-bacterial properties of honey and its ability to destroy harmful micro-organisms without affecting the tissues of the throat or generating any side effect, honey is accepted as one of the best cures for throat problems.

Ulcer

Several people have claimed to have being cured of ulcer using honey, though much hasn't being said about this.

However, through a careful examination of its medicinal properties, honey is inarguably medically able to handle cases of ulcer.

Other bacteria-causing diseases

Honey has excellent anti-bacterial properties. It can battle bacteria and virus effectively. Other bacteria-causing diseases like rhinitis, skin rashes, can be handled by honey. The reason lots of people prefer honey even to prescribed drugs is because it has no side effects and tends to work faster.

Honey should be taken in its pure and natural state. It is natural honey from honey bees that does all this healing work.

Some people advise you take it every 2 hours while some might say 3 times a day is okay.
