There's not much difference between pajama bottoms and jogging pants. They cover up the private parts, have an easy fit, and provide some protection from the elements. Furthermore, pajama pants are downright attractive!

They come in a wide range of textiles and prints - anything from "Hello Kitty" to "Mickey Mouse" or classic plaids, paisleys - something for every taste.

Best yet, pajama pants are usually low-cost and machine washable, right for any budget.

They often come with an adjustable, draw-string waist, and are oh so comfortable! They are fabulous with T-shirts, big shirts, slouchy sweaters and tank tops - they look great on either gender and come in a wide range of fabrics from silky to flannel - even fleece. Husbands and wives and siblings can share them - they're a real family affair. Ladies can dress them up or down - to an extent. Just add or subtract the right jewelry.

You mustn't wear them out with fuzzy slippers though! Sneakers, boots, sandals, flip-flops and even high heels can work well with pajama pants in public, depending on the get-up and occasion - men can skip the heels.

The selection of prints available on pajama pants is a gold-mine of options. You can sport your favorite cartoon character or go psychedelic - or opt for sensible solid colors - the options are unlimited when it comes to PJ bottoms.

Pajama bottoms say who we are, who our alter egos are or whether we are conservative or radical. Of course, they should be paraded in public! PJ's are flattering to any figure, as they are roomy enough to hide unsightly bulges, yet, depending on the textile, can even go slinky. They are sporty looking if that's what you're after, or seductive in silk and heels. You can march from bed to daily errands wearing them - but don't wear them at the office or to weddings or funerals. They are fine for supermarkets, post offices or discos though. They are ideal for jogging in - wear them to the gym! Go beach-combing in them, dance, do yoga in them.

If you wear pajama pants on a nature-walk though, they could get snagged on branches - keep to the campsite or stuff them in boots. Yes, some pajama pants even look chic in boots. Go for the bulkier knits and skip the silk if you are the adventurous, outdoors type.

Basically speaking, pajama pants are more than acceptable in public and ideal when you are on the go. In fact, you can build a whole wardrobe around them and always have that laid back, chic look.

Skip the tailored jacket with heavily padded shoulders - the less structured jackets go better with pajama bottoms. Vests are OK though. They are fabulous with hooded anything especially in relaxed knits. They don't seem to work well with leather jackets and best not to wear them on a Harley - unless you stuff them into some mean boots and never with a Hello Kitty print! Tartan or Power Rangers is a better bet.
