Poetry: Hope

by Debby Peebles

Created on: August 25, 2008

If hope were petrol,
I would always be out of gas and
never making it to anywhere on time.

If hope were cheese,
I would go hungry,
my bones would become brittle and
I would dream of fat, dairy cows,
bursting with milk and mooing for
me.

If hope were sugar,
I'd take my coffee black.
I would need to save all my hope sugar,
for the tough days of life.

Hope is the air that we breath.
We draw in hope and then carry it in our blood,
to fuel our hearts.

Hope is in the air,
in our hearts,
in our eyes and in our hands.

We give it and we take it.
Hope is the circle of life,
that we all create and breath from.
